Looked After Children with SEND

Our Designated Teacher for Looked after Children is also the school SENCO, Mrs L Cole. It is her role to ensure all teachers in school understand the implications for those children who are looked after and have SEN.

We have a small number of looked after children (LAC) in school, these students are supported by the SENCO, parents and Social Care and Health. The LA are kept informed of their progress. If a looked after child also has a SEN then they will have an individualised Student Support Plan, this follows the graduated approach of ‘assess, plan, do, review’ and identifies the needs of the student, outcomes and the provision needed to meet those needs.  Parents/carers and child views are integral to this process.

The designated teacher for Looked After Children is also Lisa Cole, the SENCO.

PEPs are reviewed termly along with their EHCP/ support plan.
