Home / SEND / Our SEN Provision / How we adapt the curriculum and learning environment for children & young people with SEN

How we adapt the curriculum and learning environment for children & young people with SEN

We adapt the curriculum and learning environment for pupils with SEN:

  • By having an enhanced mainstream provision, which is designed for students with a hearing or visual impairment. This is supported by highly trained teachers and Learning Support Assistants. Students are primarily supported within their lessons but also have some withdrawal lessons.
  • Use of SEN Intervention (in class support), which is tailored to the needs of the student.
  • Use of withdrawal groups for those students with literacy/ numeracy difficulties needing additional support.
  • Use of QFT and differentiation within the classroom to support the variety of learning styles and needs.

More details on how we adapt information, our environment and curriculum can be found in the Accessibility Plan which you can find in the School Policies section of our website.
