Holocaust Memorial Event

Our choir were given the opportunity to perform at Durham Gala’s Holocaust Memorial Event. We are extremely proud of their performance and received lovely feedback from Cllr Shield who commented that the performance by the choir had been particularly poignant and all of the young people involved were a true credit to Belmont Community School.

School of Sanctuary

As part of our ongoing work to create a kind and inclusive school community where we welcome all students and people into our Belmont Way, we have pledged to become a School of Sanctuary. This means:
“We support the ‘City of Sanctuary’ vision that the UK will be a welcoming place of safety for all and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution.

We endorse the City of Sanctuary Charter, and agree to act in accordance with City of Sanctuary values and apply the network principles within our work.”
