School Games – Supporting 60 minutes of Physical Activity
The Chief Medical Officer recommends that young people aged 5-18 should take part in 60 minutes of moderate/ vigorous Physical Activity a day across the week (or 20 minutes per day for Disabled Children and Disabled Young People). They should take part in a variety of types and intensities of Physical Activity across the week to:
- develop movement skills,
- strengthen muscles and bones,
- reduce the time spent sitting or lying down
- break up long periods of not moving with some activity
- spread activity throughout the day

Online safety: digital dictionary
Learn and understand some of the language your child might be using both online and offline when talking to their friends. There is a dictionary below to refer to if you are unsure about a word or phrase.
The Good Life Project
Here at Belmont Community School we value both our wellbeing and that of the planet. The Good Life Project allows us to focus on improving both of these outcomes for our whole school community. The projects we are working on include a Bring and Buy sale aimed at decreasing waste, and a nature project which will improve the sustainability of our school environment and encourage wildlife.

share their thoughts and ideas on Durham City.
